Our privacy approach
Final Formation helps military service members organize their transition while keeping personal information under their control. The current version stores user-entered transition information and documents locally on the user's device.
Final Formation does not operate a remote profile or document server and does not upload locally stored transition information to a developer-controlled database.
Information you provide
Depending on the features used, the app may store a name, email address, rank, military branch, years of service, transition type, transition dates, terminal-leave plans, career information, ceremony details, checklist progress, VA claim preparation notes, app preferences, and other information entered by the user.
When an account is created, Google Firebase Authentication receives the email address and authentication credentials required to create, secure, and manage the account. Firebase generates and stores a unique authentication identifier for that account.
Photos and documents
If selected by the user, the app may access a profile photo, images captured with the document scanner, imported PDFs, and files saved in the Document Vault. The app accesses only content the user chooses or creates through these features.
Saved profile photos and documents remain in the app's local storage unless the user exports, shares, backs up, or deletes them.
How information is used
Locally stored information is used to display the user's profile, calculate transition timelines and benefit estimates, remember checklist progress, organize documents, save preferences, and provide requested app features.
Firebase Authentication uses account information to provide account creation, sign-in, password reset, email verification, session management, and account deletion. Final Formation does not use personal information for targeted advertising or data-broker profiling.
Data collection and sharing
Final Formation uses Google Firebase Authentication for email-and-password accounts. Firebase receives email addresses, generates authentication identifiers, and receives basic app, device, operating-system, and SDK-version information used to operate and improve authentication.
Final Formation does not use Firebase Analytics, advertising networks, Firebase cloud document storage, or a developer-operated profile database. Documents, profile details, transition dates, checklists, benefit estimates, and other transition information are not uploaded to Firebase by Final Formation.
Final Formation does not sell or rent personal information. Locally stored content is not shared with the developer or third parties unless the user chooses to export or share it, or disclosure is required by law. Google processes Firebase information under the applicable Google Privacy Policy.
Device, exports, and backups
App information is stored within the app's storage area on the device. Device settings, the operating system, a backup provider, or a device-management configuration may cause app data to be included in a device backup.
Final Formation can create an encrypted local backup and allows the user to export that backup to a location they choose. Exported, shared, or backed-up information is controlled by the selected service or destination and may be subject to that provider's privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains on the device until the user changes it, deletes it through an app feature, removes the app, or erases the device. Individual saved documents can be deleted from the Document Vault.
From Profile → Account & Data, users may delete local information while retaining their sign-in account, or permanently delete their Firebase Authentication account together with all Final Formation data stored on that iPhone. Account deletion requires reauthentication to protect against unauthorized deletion.
Deleting the app may permanently remove documents and personal information that have not been exported or included in an encrypted backup. Removal generally deletes local app data, subject to device or cloud backups controlled by the user or their service provider.
Security and sensitive information
Final Formation uses storage and security protections provided by iOS. Documents stored in the Document Vault and encrypted local backups use complete iOS file protection and are unavailable while the device is locked. Users should protect their device with a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or other available security controls. No storage or security method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Military, medical, benefits, financial, and identity documents may contain highly sensitive information. Do not store classified information, controlled unclassified information, passwords, Social Security numbers, banking credentials, or information that the user is not authorized or comfortable storing on a personal device.
External websites
The app links to government and third-party websites. When an external site is opened, that site may collect information under its own privacy policy. Final Formation does not control those sites or their privacy and security practices.
Children's privacy
Final Formation is intended for military service members, veterans, and adults preparing for military separation or retirement. It is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
Users may decline optional information, decline photo or camera access, avoid importing documents, edit stored information, delete local data, delete their account, or remove the app. Some features cannot function without the information or device permission they require.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Final Formation's features or privacy practices change. The revised policy will display a new effective date. If a future version adds cloud document storage, analytics, advertising, or other data-sharing features, this policy and the applicable App Store disclosures will be updated.
